Experience

Mechanical Design & Manufacturing Engineering

Jun 2025 - Present

Trust Automation, Inc.

  • Rebuilt an Excel-based part-numbering system into a browser-based JavaScript tool, reducing part-number creation time by approximately 50% while standardizing inputs for engineering users.
  • Designed manufacturable packaging, workstation organization, and production-tooling systems using SolidWorks, LightBurn, laser fabrication, and controlled release workflows.
  • Created and revised manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and engineering documentation using GD&T, annotated photography, BOM references, and configuration control.

Member Portal & Chapter Website

Nov 2023 - Present

Theta Tau, Cal Poly SLO

  • Built and maintain production React applications for a 40+ member engineering organization, including a public website and private member portal gated by Google OAuth through Supabase Auth.
  • Designed an interactive ME curriculum planner that resolves prerequisite and corequisite chains across quarter and semester catalogs and recommends courses using downstream dependency analysis.
  • Architected persistent user state with debounced auto-save to Supabase PostgreSQL and added a professor review system with term-aware filtering and course-level aggregation.

Orientation Customer Support Specialist

Apr 2024 - Present

Cal Poly SLO

  • Resolved last-minute registration changes, coordinated distribution of 6,000+ personalized student packets, and collaborated across university departments to solve system and process issues.

Regent / President

Apr 2024 - Apr 2025

Theta Tau, Cal Poly SLO

  • Led a 14-officer executive board for a 40+ member engineering fraternity and coordinated more than 20 professional, service, and social events each academic quarter.
  • Developed long-term sustainability goals through revised bylaws and coordinated a national convention with national board members and chapter officers.

Trust Automation work is summarized at a public-safe level; confidential project names and details are intentionally omitted.

Selected projects

Lattice Damper System Design

Cal Poly Senior Project · Jan 2026 - Present

  • Designed lattice damper components in SolidWorks and advanced the system through PDR and CDR review cycles with iterative stakeholder feedback.
  • Developed nonlinear ANSYS FEA models using a first-order Ogden material model and connected force-deflection simulation results to Instron compression testing.

Autonomous Line-Following Robot

Open ->

Cal Poly Mechatronics · Jan - Mar 2026

  • Designed MicroPython firmware on an STM32 Nucleo with cooperative motor, sensing, observer, and user-interaction tasks.
  • Implemented PID line following and a pose observer that fused quadrature encoders with BNO055 IMU heading and yaw-rate data for line-free navigation.

Theta Tau SLO Internal Platform

Open ->

Product systems · Nov 2023 - Present

  • Built a private student hub with Google OAuth, persistent curriculum planning, concentration tracking, and shared professor reviews.
  • Separated the internal product surface from the public chapter website while keeping the experience approachable for non-technical members.

Powder Transfer Rotation Mechanism

Cal Poly Mechanical Systems Design · Spring 2025

  • Designed a scaled hopper-inversion gearbox in SolidWorks with a self-locking 10:1 worm-gear transmission, 180-degree rotation, and a 125 dollar budget constraint.
  • Built parametric analyses for gear loading, shaft stress and deflection, bearing reactions, and set-screw retention, then validated prototype motion under a 15 lb test load.

Controls, Fluids & Thermal Systems Labs

Cal Poly laboratory projects · 2025 - 2026

  • Built MATLAB/Simulink models for PMDC motors, vehicle dynamics, quarter-car suspension, traction, and differential-drive robots using transfer functions, state-space models, and numerical ODE solvers.
  • Performed wind-tunnel, boundary-layer, cylinder-drag, nozzle-flow, thermocouple, strain-gauge, heat-exchanger, and radiator experiments with uncertainty analysis.

Self-Hosted Cloud & Network Infrastructure

Personal homelab · 2026 - Present

  • Deployed Nextcloud on a Raspberry Pi 5 with a dedicated SSD, Tailscale mesh VPN, Docker, Pi-hole, Unbound recursive DNS, and static-IP network configuration.
  • Built a private remote-access setup without exposing services directly to the public internet and maintained it across home-network and remote connections.
